Opinion: Property Tax Hearings Reinforce Desire for Reform
The Texas Senate’s Select Committee on Property Tax Reform & Relief recently held a series of interim hearings all across the state. One possible solution which has garnered favor among members of the Committee involves setting a firm-but-reasonable limit on how quickly property tax revenues can grow from one year to the next. It is evident by the full-to-the-brim committee hearings that this is a crucial topic for the next Texas Legislature to address.
